Virbestia, meaning hume-animal, are shapeshifters. Any animal seen in or outside of the city coud be a virbestia.
Humes used to call them tiharire, or midday spirits. Humes think these beasts come from humes who were cursed by the evil and dark Lamia. Though the Virbestia believe they came from animal-like demi-gods. Humes cannot become Virbestia.
Virbestia are unable to lose their abbility to change unless they are injected with lanithea, a very rare metal that if liquified and concentrated into a large enough dose will kill the bloodcells that cause the body to shift. Only the virbestia and the briea can sniff out the metal for its peculiar rust and flower like scent.
Full beast fom is whatever animal the Virbestia is. IE: Kaiji(canine) Wolf, would be a large wolf. Larger than the average wolf with longer limbs and features. Reflexes, senses, and speeds increase.
Half beast form is usually the Virbestia in hume form with(depending on the Virbestia) longer nails, sharper canines, eye change, feathers, scales, tails, ears(of animal), quicker reflexes and sharper senses. Speed increases.
Fullblood-
Can change fully into their animal forms whenever they wish. Half-beast form is simple to achieve.
Halfblood-
Can change fully into their animal forms only when they concentrate and even then can't always do so. They find it easiest to change into their half-beast form.
